About Me
Who Am I?
A Few Words About Me
My approach
As a therapist and artist, I look at the emotional and expressive content behind non-verbal interaction. Emotion is felt and expressed in motion. One connects with the other. At the core of any therapeutic process there is also an artistic and creative outcome. While in therapy with me you are invited to gently explore your sense of self and your identity experienced when feeling/thinking/moving and watching the reality we all share. Creativity in therapy is for me intended as an encounter with our world in connection with the influences we get from our surroundings.
My vision
The body in movement or stillness carries meaning and tells us a story. Whatever sitting, walking, standing, awake or asleep, our body is the medium to our life journey and our daily self expression. Understanding the body and mind connection can give us access to a deep understanding of who we are. Movement is for me the greatest manifestation of the body and mind connection of the inner and intimate creativity that resides in our bodies.
What I am busy with
In addition to the work I do for my private practice I currently work two days a week for the GGZ ( dutch mental health system) as a 'lichaamsgerichte therapeut' in a centre for trauma and personality disorders.
I often organise trainings and workshops for amateur dancers and curious people to share basics principle of dancing and non- verbal interactions.
